QI GONG
"At the higher stages of energy continuation, one will find his movements are
now being governed by the movement of his internal energy.
This is the Qi of energy, not breath, to which I refer.
There are essentially three basic ingredients for higher accomplishment:
1. Mental tranquility and physical relaxation.
2. Application of the integrated supple strength of the whole body.
3. Continuity of the internal energy without interruption
from movement to movement and moment to moment
throughout the entire form."

ZHAN ZHUANG GONG
"Standing like a tree"
“We need roots because we are physical, we need wings because we are spiritual”
The Zhan Zhuang positions enhance the flow of Chi. When you breathe Chi descends to Tan Tien and from this, it flows down your legs to your feet then backup throw your body to your arms, along your arms to your hands and then back along your arms and neck to your head. From there it returns to the Tan tien. This Qi Gong is common to all the programs of the school, and it's purpose is to feel the energy and learn to make it flow by relaxing the postural muscles.

FIVE RESPIRATIONS QI GONG
“The true man, with the
exception of the ordinary man who breathes with the throat,
breathes with the heels.”
Into the five
respirations school (Wuxigong) there is a sequence of exercises
called wai wuxi or five external respirations:
Respiration with the head: the first part acts on the
vertebral column and opens the vertebral spaces, reducing the
pressure on the on intervertebral discs and on the spinal marrow
and the nerves. Moreover, it promotes motor movements and the qi
circulation into the function and control channel; the second
part promotes the qi circulation into the right and left
channels.
Respiration with the shoulders: helps to reduce the
resistance of muscles and ligaments around to the articulations
of the shoulders to open and relax. With the first part you
practice the emission of the external qi. With the second part
you open and close the inferior cinnabar field.
Respiration with the chest: the original qi fight with
the pathogenic qi. The first part enforce the diaphragm’s
movements, relaxing the thorax and abdomen muscles, and
controlling the pressure between the lungs, the thorax and the
abdomen, so hearth and lungs work with less effort. Moreover it
stimulates also the digestive function. The second part it
emphasizes the importance of the acupuncture point xinhui on the
top of the head.
Respiration with the abdomen: it spreads the dorsal,
lumbar and sacral vertebras and the hip articulation and it
rules the internal pressure of the abdomen by massaging the
internal organs and the stomach.
Respiration with heels: it joints the energy of Heaven
and Earth into the body and opens the six leg’s channels so the
pathogenic qi can be expelled from these channels.
